Warden 1.44 is an access manager for Apache Web Servers. Websites where you have a lot of users, a membership site for example, could use this tool to impose the discipline. You would be able to apply password protection to your website in seconds. Password management is done through Warden, a website user-manager and .htaccess and .htpasswd generator. This way it becomes easy to control authentication for Apache-compatible web servers. Typical controls necessary include opening a new account, suspending an account and sending email to users, etc. This tool will be able to handle all of that. Controls of accounts from Windows or from Android and iOS based devices remotely is possible. One could integrate such control in your website with these Warden servers. Even when only a part is covered by access control, you could use this tool easily.
From the 1.44 version, the tool has a feature to generate PHP login scripts so that Apache authentication helps implement the control through web forms. Add account, update user account related back end commands, send password to user and such features are available. Mobile interface to the tool was added in a later version. Some additional and useful features include SMTP error checking, CSV formatted export of data, tooltips display. Digital signature feature is now available. The utility now includes two useful tools for finding user’s own directory and finding information on web server. Users could be re-directed should an error occur. The simple interface provides easy means of operating the tool. This is a very good tool.
